INTRALASE®
During the first step of the LASIK procedure, a corneal flap is created to allow treatment and correction on the corneal surface. In traditional LASIK, this flap was created with a surgical blade. IntraLase FS technology allows our experienced surgeons to create the corneal flap with a laser rather than a blade. The IntraLase FS helps surgeons control the shape of the corneal flap, customizing it to your individual vision correction needs and allowing for a larger range of treatment. In fact, with this technology, patients who were previously not candidates for traditional LASIK may now be good candidates for an IntraLase LASIK procedure.
ALLEGRETTO WAVE®
Freedom LASIK features the breakthrough ALLEGRETTO WAVE laser system for step two of the LASIK procedure. This advancement in vision correction technology offers patients increased speed, accuracy and safety. Spending less time under the laser means less stress and less discomfort for the patient.
ALLEGRETTO WAVE technology features a customized treatment that is adjusted to the individual shape of the patient's cornea, resulting in fewer unwanted side effects such as poor night vision, glare and halos.
The ALLEGRETTO WAVE is the first vision correction system to receive concurrent approval for the treatment of both nearsightedness and farsightedness.
