Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of vision results can I expect from LASIK?
The goal of LASIK is to reduce or eliminate your dependence on glasses and contact lenses. The experienced team of surgeons at Freedom LASIK has performed tens of thousands of LASIK procedures, with a vast majority of patients achieving 20/20 vision or better. In fact, 95 percent of patients who undergo our Advanced All-Laser LASIK achieve 20/20 vision, with some patients even achieving 20/15 vision. However, the results of your procedure may vary depending on your unique vision correction needs. Your surgeon will discuss the exact level of vision correction you can expect during your free consultation or before your procedure.
How much does LASIK cost?
The cost of your LASIK procedure depends on the level of correction you require and the type of procedure that is best suited for your vision. At Freedom LASIK, we determine the cost of each patient's procedure during his or her free VIP consultation. Currently, Freedom LASIK packages are available starting at just $777 per eye.
Do you offer financing?
Yes, we do. We have researched companies that finance LASIK procedures and we have selected the one that offers the most aggressive, affordable and forgiving financing options currently available. Through these companies, great options like zero percent interest for up to 18 months and payments as low as 28 dollars a month are available to you!
Will I be approved for financing?
At Freedom LASIK, more than 95% of patients are approved for financing! Our extremely flexible financing provider is specifically designed for people with less-than-perfect credit. No matter what your previous credit history, we can likely deliver the low monthly payments that will help you afford phenomenal vision!
Does the LASIK procedure hurt?
Rarely does a Freedom LASIK patient complain about discomfort during the procedure. Your surgeon will use topical anesthetic to numb your eyes so you will not feel anything other than a mild pressure sensation. You may be given a mild sedative to help you relax.
Advanced All-Laser LASIK decreases discomfort by eliminating the use of a blade. The actual LASIK procedure often takes less than a minute to perform, minimizing the amount of time you could experience pressure, or for that matter any discomfort.
Is LASIK safe?
LASIK has been performed since the early 1990's with millions of people achieving great vision with absolutely no complications. In fact, LASIK is the number one elective procedure performed in the world today.
The amount of risk associated with LASIK is very low, with vision-reducing complications estimated to be at less than one percent. At Freedom LASIK, we take great strides to maximize safety. Our Advanced All-Laser LASIK is the leading-edge LASIK procedure available today. This highly accurate blade-free technology is up to 100 times more precise than LASIK with a blade.
Our team of surgeons will NEVER suggest LASIK to a patient who has an increased risk for complications.
Will I see better immediately?
You will likely see a noticeable improvement in your vision immediately following the procedure. Your vision will continue to improve in acuity over the next 24 hours, with most patients being able to drive to their next-day post-operative visit without the need for glasses. Vision will continue to improve over the next one to two months.
How quickly can I go back to work?
Most patients see well enough to return to normal activities, including work, the day following their procedure. However, patients with higher prescriptions may require an extra day or two to recover. If missing work is a concern for you, you can schedule your procedure for a Friday, allowing you to most likely return to work on the following Monday.
Can you describe the LASIK procedure?
The actual LASIK procedure is a relatively simple two-step process. In step one, your Freedom LASIK surgeon will use the femtosecond laser or a microkeratome to create a corneal flap on the surface of your cornea. In step two, the corneal flap is folded back and a laser is used to reshape your cornea and correct your vision.
Once vision correction is complete, the corneal flap is positioned back into place, where it immediately begins to heal. The entire procedure typically takes just a few minutes to perform.
What's the difference between LASIK with a blade and LASIK without a blade?
In the first step of the LASIK process, a corneal flap is created on the surface of the cornea. Either a blade or a laser can be used to create this flap. Freedom LASIK offers both options depending on your needs. All-laser LASIK creates a corneal flap that is more precise and consistent, allowing individuals with thin corneas or astigmatism to receive the accuracy they need for reliable LASIK results. This eliminates complications that can occur with a blade, making it a safer procedure with a faster healing time.
How many procedures have you performed?
The experienced team of surgeons at Freedom LASIK has performed tens of thousands of LASIK procedures, with a vast majority of patients achieving 20/20 vision or better.
What technology/laser do you use?
We have a variety of technologies available for our patients.
Our Advanced All-Laser LASIK includes:

- Allows us to gather up to 25 times more information about your vision than traditional LASIK methods

- Facilitates faster healing
Is LASIK permanent?
The results of LASIK are designed to be permanent. Very few of our patients require the need for a second LASIK procedure. However, each person's eyes are different and have the potential to change over time. If you do require an enhancement, we offer our Lifetime Guarantee Program. This program offers our patients the opportunity to enjoy great vision through LASIK touchups or enhancements for a lifetime and for a very small fee. Almost all of our patients take advantage of this program because it is extremely affordable and it ensures that they continue to enjoy their life with great vision.
It is also worth noting that LASIK does not eliminate the possibility of future eye conditions such as presbyopia (over-40 vision) or cataracts, which may require you to receive another vision enhancement procedure later in life.
